PLEDGE TO BOYCOTT
" Dictatorship is a constant lecture instructing you that your feelings, your thoughts and your desires are of no account, that you are nobody and you must live as you are told by the other people who desire and think for you. ”
In this moment of grief that Pakistan military has deprived its civil society of all fundamental rights, we are requesting all Pakistanis to start a silent struggle by calling for a social boycott of Pakistan Armed Forces at all civilian forums.
This requires minimum effort and time and is probably the least we can do but small steps taken in right direction do lead to great achievements. It is NOW OR NEVER for Pakistan.
Our Pledge for Silent struggle:
-
Our cause against Military dictatorship is moral, just and right and we reaffirm that it is for no personal gain or agenda against any institution but against individual supported by his subordinates.
-
We believe in respect and freedom of speech of each and every individual regardless of his/ her views in our favour or against us.
-
As civilians of Pakistan, we firmly support the path of “non-violent social-boycott” of all serving armed forces personals (from the ranks of Captains & Flight Lieutenants to the Chiefs) and their immediate family members (including their parents, siblings and children) in public and private gatherings.
-
Until they join us in our struggle, we will not make any new relationships (including marriages and friendships) with any of them. We will not accept any invitation of any kind from them (including public and private celebrations) and we will not invite them to any such occasion.
-
If anyone of us is an immediate relative of any army personal or his family, he/she will reflect sentiments of people of Pakistan to them.
-
We may not live to see the outcome of our noble cause but we will let our children experience the blessings of freedom, human rights and social justice.
Let us concentrate on the value, the rightness and the truth of our work. Let us affirm that we are a nation of conscience and we deserve respect and dignity. Let us hold strong to the flag of our ancestors who sacrificed their lives for our rights.
If we succeed in our struggle, we all know the greatest joy of all – the joy of watching and living in a Pakistan with the blessings of freedom and justice, InshaAllah
